Legend of Cthulhu • by Master Carver Tegal
“Cthulhu” by Master Carver Tegal. Originally created by a forefather of Science Fiction, H.P. Lovecraft, Cthulhu (kuh-THOO-loo) is a mythical ancient being from the planet Vhoorl in the 23rd Nebula, who once ruled the earth with otherworldly powers. Millenia in age, Cthulhu holds the form of a dragon, octopus, and human as large as a mountain. He is a high priest of the Great Old Ones, a class of cosmic beings who serve Gods of the universe. With near omnipotent powers of incredible strength, shape-shifting, psychic abilities, and madness inducement, Cthulhu serves to destroy mankind as pests of Earth when they have degenerated into primal insanity. He lies dead on the sunken island of R'lyeh deep in the Pacific ocean, in a state of dreaming until the stars align for him to rise and rule the earth once again. During this state of deathly hibernation, Cthulhu witnessed the evolution of humans over thousands of years. He is beyond good and evil, truth and morals are merely perceptions of an insecure mind. Communicating through telepathic dreaming with humans, he formed The Cult of Cthulhu who serve him. Located in dark forgotten pockets of the world in China, Greenland, and Louisiana; Cult followers are known to perform terrifying rituals of worship, in preparation for Cthulhu’s return. Though an imaginative tale written by Lovecraft a hundred years ago, the Cthulhu prophecy remains in a myriad of cultures worldwide, inspiring his followers to set the world ablaze to be free and wild as the universe. Cthulhu’s vast dark powers of higher dimensions will restore the cosmic order of chaos. Master Carver Tegal believes the story of Cthulhu to be an excellent representation of a powerful Raksasa sent from the Gods to cleanse the earth of greed & selfish desires. If we show our respect for the Earth through preservation and offerings of prayer to the Gods, they will protect us from the horrors of Cthulhu. Ignite your spirit, with the mind of H.P. Lovecraft.
